Sencio to operate Waterside Club
Kent-based sports trust Sencio Community Leisure (SCL) is to take over the management of the Waterside Club at Cambridgeshire's Buckden Marina this month.
SCL will operate the marina's grounds maintenance function, its bar and café and health and fitness facilities on a 15-year lease from owner, Mark William Leisure Estates.
The fitness centre, which is open to the public, boasts a swimming pool, sauna, steamroom, spa pool and 30-station gym.
Mark Whyman, chief executive of SCL, said: "The opportunity to operate key elements of this popular east of England facility is an extremely exciting one for the Sencio team. It will allow us to use vast leisure operations expertise to build on, and further enhance, the success of the Waterside Club.
"Our immediate priority is to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for our new customers, staff and partners. From there, we will then be looking at ways of ensuring both existing and new users can maximise their enjoyment of these impressive leisure facilities."
SCL also manages five leisure centres and a public golf course of behalf of Sevenoaks District Council in Kent.
