Sevenoaks play area set for revamp
Sevenoaks District Council (SDC) has announced the first stage of work to enhance the Stangrove Park estate play area is set to get underway on 20 May.
Work to repaint the basketball court and old war shelter - due to be carried out by Community Payback offenders - and a litter clearing exercise will mark the start of improvements to the site. The council has earmarked £40,000 for the scheme, while the Stangrove Area Community Action Group has also expressed its interest in raising funds for new equipment.
Kent Probation Community Payback operations manager Rita Hockley said: "This is a fantastic example of Kent Probation working in close partnership with the Police and councils to respond to the needs of the local community and make a difference to this area."
