The two hotels - both in Jiangsu province - will join the group's six existing hotels in the Yangtze River Delta, plus two further projects in Shanghai scheduled to open in the next two years. The 371-room Shangri-La Hotel, Yangzhou will be situated in the city's CBD and offer a Chinese restaurant specialising in the area's Huai Yang cuisine, three further restaurants and bars, a 1,540sq m (16,576sq ft) grand ballroom, a Horizon Club executive lounge and a fitness centre with a 25m indoor pool and tennis courts. Set to the northeast of Nanjing, Yangzhou sits at the junction of the Yangtze River, the Grand Canal and the Huaihe River. The city boasts a 2,500 year history dating back to the Spring and Autumn Period and is home to more than 500 historic sites.
