Sheffield base for UK's ice skating body
The National Ice Skating Association (NISA) has relocated to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield (EISS), which is operated by Sheffield International Venues (SIV).
It comes as part of the national governing body's preparations for the ISU European Figure Skating Championships that are to be held at the Motorpoint Arena in January next year. NISA chief executive Keith Horton said: "Being located in the heart of Sheffield's sporting hub, close to iceSheffield and the Motorpoint Arena, will be hugely beneficial.
"EISS is a superb venue, which is home to many sporting champions, and it will be a great inspiration for our Executive Committee." The English Table Tennis Association, the British Volleyball Federation and the British Amateur Boxing Association are some of the other governing bodies to be based at EISS.
