Singapore government to invest in improving governing bodies of sport
The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) will be rolling out a new Organisational Excellence framework to enhance the professional management of the country's national governing bodies for sport.
Following consultations with the National Sports Associations (NSA), SSC has placed a new emphasis on leadership development and succession planning.
The new framework will aim to provide systems and processes that ensure leadership development and business continuity within all NSAs.
The governing bodies are also encouraged to promote diversity within organisations by appointing board members and executives with a range of skill sets outside the sport - such as finance, accounting, legal, audit, marketing and sponsorship, fund raising, and technical knowledge.
