Six Continents Hotels, is to donate $1m to the America Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and September 11, the fund established by United Way and The New York Community Trust to help the victims of the terrorism attacks in USA.

The company's donation allows every Six Continents Hotel's employee, customer and hotel property to contribute to the relief effort and funds will be raised through corporate contributions, matching fund programmes for employees, consumers and individual hotels ad fundraising events.

We plan to apply our corporate donations where they can meet the most pressing needs, but we also continue to stand ready to help families, friends and rescue workers with whatever expertise or resources that we can provide, said Thomas R Oliver, chairman and chief executive of Six Continents Hotels.
