Following the opening of Six Senses Duxton, sister property Six Senses Maxwell is scheduled to open on December 1, 2018. Six Senses Maxwell is the second of two heritage buildings that together form Six Senses Singapore.

While Six Senses Duxton portrays Anouska Hempel’s East-meets-West eclecticism, the 120-bedroom Six Senses Maxwell, designed by French architect and designer Jacques Garcia, offers an alternative aesthetic with his signature European style, which melds tradition and modernity.

“Six Senses Maxwell allows us to fully introduce the brand into our first city location, and honour the owners’ commitment to complete the Six Senses experience in Singapore,” said general manager Murray Aitken, who is responsible for bringing together both Six Senses Duxton and Six Senses Maxwell as one. “We’re incredibly proud of the progress of Six Senses Duxton, and we’re on track now for a December opening, where guests of both hotels will be able to utilise the facilities at either location and enjoy a host of crafted experiences with our trusted partners in the neighborhood.”

In early 2019, Six Senses Spa Pods will open, where guests and locals can enjoy signature massages, facials, and beauty treatments, as well as relaxation on So Sound Loungers. Personal trainers and yoga classes will also be available.

Situated within the heart of Singapore’s bustling Chinatown, Six Senses Maxwell is housed in a colonial-style 19th century heritage building that has received the Urban Redevelopment Authority Architectural Heritage Award.

Sustainably restored by designer Jacques Garcia – who has also worked on the Hôtel Costes Paris, The NoMad New York City and L’oscar London – Six Senses Maxwell exudes a timeless sophistication blended with stylish European sensibilities.

While paying homage to the building’s storied past, yet still presenting his baroque style, Garcia’s attention to detail is showcased throughout seven room categories across 120 guestrooms and suites.

New neighbourhood experiences will include the MacRitchie Treetops Walk, Botanic Gardens Exploration Tour, Civic District Discovery Walk, and a Black & White Iconic Heritage Homes Tour. These complement the current guest offerings at Six Senses Duxton, which include complimentary traditional Chinese medicine consultations, tea appreciation sessions, yoga and local heritage tours.
