Six bidders for Montrose pool scheme
Angus Council has announced that it has received six bids for the development of a new swimming pool and sports complex in Montrose.
An initial field of 18 was narrowed down to six contractors that were invited to tender for the project, which include Edinburgh-based Morgan Ashurst and Muirfield of Dundee. Stirling-based Ogilvie Construction; John Graham - trading as Graham Construction, Edinburgh; Perth's Mansell Construction Services and Galliford Try Construction - trading as Morrison Construction of Newmachar are also in the running.
The project will include the construction of a new six-lane, 25m swimming pool as an extension to Montrose Sports Centre, as well as a separate studio pool, changing facilities and a health and fitness suite. A council spokesperson said: "Each of the six contractors invited to tender have made submissions. Early indicators are that the current market conditions have ensured that the tenders submitted are very competitive."
