Six former Real Hotel Group properties for sale

A further six hotels, formerly operated by the liquidated Real Hotel Company, have been put on the market.

Danish fund EjendomsInvest has valued the six properties combined freehold at £20m. Property agents Christie + Co are handling the freehold sale of three properties and the allocation of new leases or management contracts for the other three. Located in the Midland and the North of England, the freehold properties include 59-bedroom Stop Inn Hull, in East Riding of Yorkshire; the 55-bedroom Stop Inn Skelmersdale, in Lancashire; and the 54-bedroom Stop Inn Redditch, in Worcestershire.

The other three properties available are the 90-bedroom Stop Inn, near Darlington, North Yorkshire; the 94-bedroom Quality Hotel in Loughborough, Leicestershire; and the 154-bedroom Quality Hotel in Walsall. Compass Hotels Management Services, a subsidiary of Compass Hotels, has taken over the running of four of the hotels for the next six months until a buyer is found. Under the temporary management contract the two Quality Hotels will be renamed Compass Hotels and two of the former Stop Inns will be called The Southcrest Hotel Redditch and the Scotch Corner Hotel, near Richmond.

Jeremy Jones, Director at Christie + Co, said: “The non trading hotels in Hull, Redditch and Skelmersdale offer great opportunities for hoteliers or developers to acquire substantial freehold sites. "The trading hotels offer a great opportunity for an operator to take a lease or management contract on a premium free deal. We have already received a number of enquiries from a variety of interested parties.”
