Skaná launches at Turning Point
A 33,000sq ft (3,065sq m) spa, salon and fitness facility called Skaná has opened at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in the Mohawk Valley Region of New York State, US.
The Skaná spa – which takes its name from the Oneida word for peace – combines Native American healing traditions with spa brands including Molton Brown, Kerstin Florian, Naturopathica and Plantogen.
The spa has 12 treatment rooms for massage, body and skincare treatments, including one private VIP suite with two soaking tubs. There is also a relaxation area with a herb garden, an indoor pool, a mineral whirlpool and saunas.
Therapies will use herbs, leaves and flowers, including sage, lavender and aloe. Other treatments will include a reflexology massage.
Situated 30 miles east of Syracuse, the Turning Stone resort covers a total of 17,000 acres and is an enterprise of the Oneida Indian Nation. (See Spa Business 07/01 p18. To order, visit www.spabusiness.com)
