Sofitel Luxury Hotels has announced the opening of its new Indian flagship property at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai's financial district - the Sofitel Mumbai BKC.
The 302-bedroom hotel has been designed by US-based BBGM, with interior designs from Singapore's Miaja Design Group creating a contemporary French atmosphere.
Among the facilities is India's first So SPA by Sofitel, which is housed on its own dedicated floor and offers a full range of treatments inspired by a French gastronomic restaurant.
Signature therapies using Cing Mondes and Gemology products are combined with original music to create a "unique personal experience" for spa visitors.
The spa spans 6,000sq ft (557sq m) and has six treatment rooms - one of which is an exclusive couples treatment/spa area with a private whirlpool.
An outdoor unheated swimming pool and the So FIT fitness centre also feature as part of the hotel, along with six restaurants and bars - including The Pondichéry Café all-day eatery.
"Sofitel Mumbai BKC will introduce Mumbai to a luxurious blend of French elegance and Indian culture," said general manager and Sofitel India area general manager Bernd Schneider.
"We will be a key address combining the best of each country's culture. French elegance, savoir-faire and art de recevoir coupled with India's rich heritage of personalized service, tradition of luxury and depth of culture will provide a backdrop for memorable stays."
