Sofitel has opened a new luxury hotel in Ningbo, China.

The five-star Sofitel Wanda Ningbo – Sofitel’s 22nd Chinese site – boasts 290 guestrooms and suites, as well as a spa, a fitness centre, a ballroom, two bars and four different restaurants.

The Touch Spa features private treatment rooms, a sauna and steamroom, offering massages, body treatments and facials.

Wanda Ningbo’s four restaurants – Lavish, Le Bristro, Wan and Koko – and two bars – the Lobby Bar and Le Club Wines and Cigars – offer guests a wide variety of eating and drinking options.

General manager Pat Phanekham said: “Ningbo has played an important role in China’s history – as far back as the Ming Dynasty and Silk Road, and in more modern times to grow and become a key business centre for the nation.

“Now, Sofitel has an opportunity to play its own pivotal role in the city’s history, becoming Ningbo’s first ever contemporary five-star hotel – a truly important tourism milestone.”
