SolihullActive database shortlisted for awards
A campaign by Solihull Council to encourage more people in the area to get active has been shortlisted in two categories of the Chartered Institue of Public Relations Pride Awards.
The SolihullActive database – up for the community campaign and public sector programme awards – enables residents to type in their postcode and find out about their nearest leisure activities.
The council began recruiting partner sports associations in February and officially unveiled the database in September.
As of 1 December, 170 clubs and associations have now registered.
The awards ceremony will take place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull on 17 February 2006.
