Sona Positive Health to open wellness facilities
Sona Positive Health plans to open three wellness facilities in Germany in the next six months.
Formed in 1981 as Tweed Park, Sona specialises in corporate fitness facilities. The company rebranded to Sona last year and currently manages 92 centres for blue chip companies in the UK.
The facilites range from 1,000sq ft to 30,000sq ft in size with memberships from 300 to 3,000.
“We operate wellness as opposed to fitness facilities,” says managing director Brian Davies. “We specialise in getting the deconditioned market to exercise regularly and in most of our sites are getting more than 50 per cent of the workforce into a an exercise programme.”
The company, which has two sites in Ireland and another in Amsterdam, has opened its first international office in Frankfurt, Germany.
Davies also disclosed that the company was in discussions with an Italian organisation regarding expansion in Italy.
