Sonesta Resort in South Carolina unveiled after US$30m revamp
Sonesta Resort in Southern Carolina has reopened following a US$30m (£19.7m, €23m) renovation, which included an all-new Arum Spa.
Located on Hilton Head Island and 45-minutes from Savannah, the resorts Arum Spa features three private treatment rooms, a post-treatment relaxation room and a manicure/pedicure room. An emphasis will be placed on providing guests with a Lowcountry spa experience highlighting local products and scents such as jasmine and sea salts.
In addition, the resort now offers guests a shaded lap pool, spa pool, heated lagoon swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness centre.
The renovation of the resort began in December 2012, featuring Atlanta-based design firm Sims Patrick Studio and the architectural firm designONE studio
The 331 guestrooms and nine suites have all been redesigned to highlight the feel of the of the South Carolina Lowcountry featuring ocean, coral and beach tones.
The resort's new meetings and event space features 23,000 sq ft (2,140sq m) of function space and can accommodate up to 1000 guests. Meeting space includes the 10,000 sq ft (930 sq m) Santee Ballroom and 7,000 sq ft (650 sq m) Oceanfront Pavilion near the beach.
Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island has also partnered with the Heritage Collection on Hilton Head Island giving guests access to seven championship golf courses located at four of the island's premier golf courses.
Jay Wiendl, general manager of Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island said: "From locals to out-of-state visitors, there's plenty to explore and experience at the resort, including local flavours, entertainment and spa treatments, as well as premier golf and tennis. We're looking forward to hearing guests' impressions when they experience our resort for the first time this season."
