South Lakeland acquisition
South Lakeland Caravans, is ploughing ahead with plans to become the UK's leading leisure holiday operator with the £3.6m acquisition of Gorse Hill Caravan Park in Conwy.
Financed with debt funding from Yorkshire Bank, the deal marks the company's entrance into Wales and comes less than two months after company's acquisition of three parks in Cumbria for £16m.
Work has also started on a 64-acre holiday park in a disused quarry near Carnforth. Costing £15m, the South Lakeland Leisure Village will include 265 pines lodges, a bar, restaurant, pool and gym.
As with other acquisitions, South Lakeland's plans for the holiday park include upgrading facilities, converting more caravans to private ownership and introducing pine lodges. Details: +44 (0)1625 617611
