Southampton Council plans snow slope for city
Plans are afoot for a multi-million pound real snow ski slope in Southampton.
A spokesperson for Southampton City Council told Leisure Opportunities that they wanted an “all singing, all dancing facility that will attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year”.
They continued: “We have identified a site in the city where our town depot currently is sited, off Chapel Street. In the next year the depot will be moved to another location in the city and make much of the land there redundant.
“We have asked for expressions of interest to build a snow dome on this site, and we have already received five expressions of interest from large organisations.”
The spokesperson said that the plans have gone no further at this stage, but the next step in the process is to mull over the expressions of interest to see what the best option is.
