Spa London set to launch in Tower Hamlets
Spa London, one of the UK’s first public sector day spas, is set to open its doors in just a few weeks’ time.
A joint venture between Tower Hamlets Council and Greenwich Leisure (GLL), Spa London is located in Tower Hamlets’ old Victorian baths. Facilities will include a steamroom, sauna and a relaxation zone as well as four treatment rooms providing a full range of beauty treatments from international brands such as Thalgo, Jane Iredale and Jessica.
The spa has been carefully designed as a contemporary spa that remains sympathetic to the historic nature of the building – with a focus on high quality and first-rate customer service.
Spa London is being headed by Alex Smith, former spa manager of the five-star Old Course Hotel in St Andrews.
GLL’ss operations director, Andy McCabe, said: “GLL is a leisure trust with charitable aims and a key agenda for GLL is growth and development.
“We are naturally involved with councils offering a traditional portfolio of activities – fitness, health, sport – but this market has been reaching a plateau for some time. So we were looking for new opportunities and new markets.
Introducing a day spa facility that will appeal to both existing and new customers will hopefully establish GLL’s position in the spa sector with a unique premium, affordable day spa product unique in the public trust leisure sector.”
