Spa management software company Spabooker has announced two new strategic tie-ups with Yelp and MapQuest – both deals are designed to enable spa operators using the Spabooker system to be more ‘discoverable’ and bookable by consumers.

Spabooker will give automated listings and real-time booking on Yelp to spas which use its software at no additional charge. When consumers book and pay for appointment through Yelp, the spas will be charged a nominal booking fee.

Yelp is the online search engine that connects consumers with local businesses. It’s used by 120m customers a day.

“We strive to help our spa customers be both discoverable and bookable anytime and anywhere their customers want to make an appointment,” said Josh McCarter, CEO at Spabooker. “Yelp is a leader in online reviews. This partnership provides significant additional reach for our spa customers.”

”Booker is a great addition to our platform“ said Yelp’s Mike Ghaffary, “We know people are turning to Yelp to discover great local spas, now they can book their appointment as well, with just a few clicks.”

Spabooker’s partnership with MapQuest will work on a similar basis, by enabling spas to be searchable and bookable within MapQuest’s local search and map.

“By partnering with Spabooker, MapQuest offers users the ability to book appointments with our local discovery tool, which is already used by millions of people every day,” said MapQuest’s Brian McMahon. “Consumers using MapQuest for travel planning will be able to book spa appointments to enhance their overall travel experience – especially those using MapQuest to find and book hotels.” MapQuest gets 40m visitors a month.

Scheduling will be powered by the Spabooker widget and will take place directly on MapQuest for a more streamlined experience.
