AltaFit opens second premium club
Spanish health club franchise AltaFit has opened a second premium site after the Acquisition of Santander Fitness Room in Cantabria on the country's north coast.
Under the brand Myst Gym Club, the site joins AltaFit's other premium offering in Puerta del Sol, Madrid. The group also has 40 low-cost AltaFit gyms in Spain.
The deal to buy Santander Fitness Room was finalised in April and work to transform and rebrand the club is already complete. Kitted out with Matrix equipment, the 700sq m (7,530sq ft) gym also offers spinning and classes.
The club has 500 customers but Jose Antonio Sevilla, AltaFit chief executive officer, expects to "double that in the coming months".
Santander Fitness Room is the fourth acquisition of AltaFit in the past three years after the purchases of BubaGym in Burgos, Platinium in Zaragoza and Oxifit in Oviedo.
