Sport England issues funding support call
Sport England has once again encouraged grassroots and clubs and voluntary organisations across England to apply for funding as part of the agency's Sportsmatch programme.
Grants worth between £1,000 and £100,000 are available through the scheme, which aims to bring additional support to non-profit groups that have already secured sponsorship. Among the recipients to have already received Sportsmatch support is StreetGames, which was handed £100,000 in addition to investment from Coca Cola GB to run sport festivals.
Sport England chair Richard Lewis said: "This funding is helping many more people get involved in grassroots sport and the StreetGames project is a great example of that. "However, there is still plenty of opportunity for other sports clubs to benefit and I urge them to take advantage of this fund and apply."
