Sport England launches Use Our School online resource
Sport England has launched a new online resource as part of a strategy to get more schools to open up their sports facilities for community use.
Called Use Our School, the web-based service contains a raft of information and advice for schools, local authorities and sport partners on how to host sports clubs and sessions.
According to Jayne Molyneux, strategic lead youth at Sport England, the new resource provides “tried and tested solutions” in the form of case studies and real life practice as well as tips from schools and people who have successfully opened up their facilities. There will also be a range of downloadable resources.
“We know what an important role schools play in their local community,” Molyneux said. “More than a third (39 per cent) of all sporting facilities in England are currently on school sites and 62 per cent of these open for their local community.
"We hope that this new resource will enable more people to access sport and physical activity in their community.”
