Real Federacion Espanola de Golf (RFEG), the Spanish golf association, has appointed UK-based The Sports Consultancy to develop it's bid to host the 2018 Ryder Cup.
The company will look to prepare the commercial, legal and technical aspects of the RFEG's bid.
If the bid is successful, it would be the second time that Spain has hosted the tournament, after it was held at the Valderrama Golf Course, Sotogrande, Andalusia in 1997.
The Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) America and the Professional golfers' Association Europe, which jointly administer the tournament, have already announced that the 2018 will be held on mainland Europe.
