St Modwen submits £5m Doncaster plans
St Modwen has submitted a planning application for the £5m redevelopment of the former Tyco Electronics factory site on Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster.
The scheme has been drawn up in partnership with Cooper Lighting, which shared the site with Tyco and continues to operate, and will feature a Goals Soccer Centre football facility. A family-friendly pub and a number of potential roadside and retail uses have been mooted as part of the development, which aims to bring the prominent site back into use.
Stephen Prosser, Yorkshire and the North East regional director at St Modwen, said: "We have spent some considerable time consulting with Doncaster Council and Cooper Lighting in order to go forward with the proposals. "Our over-riding aim has been to ensure that Cooper Lighting's long term future is secured and that a significant number of jobs are maintained -and indeed created - on this vital site for Doncaster."
