Stansted hotel gets green light
Skanska has been given planning permission to start construction of a 500-bed Radisson SAS hotel at Stansted Airport.
The hotel, designed by Aukett Europe, will be the first at the airport to provide direct pedestrian access to the terminal building.
With a transparent five-story atrium at the centre, the hotel will provide conference facilities, meeting rooms, a 350sq m banqueting hall, a health club, restaurants and bars.
Construction will begin this autumn and is scheduled to finish in early 2004. For Skanska and Aukett Europe, the project will be the continuation of a relationship that saw the building of the Radisson SAS at Manchester airport. Details www.skanska.co.uk
