StarCity Casino to open next month
Stanley Casinos is set to open its £10m casino within Birmingham’s Star City next month.
The 68,000sq ft Star City Casino, will include a 12,000sq ft main gaming floor with 40 tables as well as hundreds of slot machines, an intimate dining area and an entertainment and function space spread over two levels serving over 200 covers for cabaret-style dining.
This includes a supper club dinner followed by the Viva Vegas spectacular and a midnight champagne cabaret.
Steve Hight, casino director, said: “This is an incredibly exciting venture for Stanley Casinos and Birmingham and it will blow away any preconceptions about gaming.
“The new casino sits well in the Star City leisure destination mix and will be unlike anything ever seen before in this country.”
Chief executive of StarCity owner, X-Leisure, PY Gerbeau, said the opening of the casino meant the company was starting to fulfil StarCity’s promise.
He added: “We have some really exciting plans for the future of this destination, in order to achieve its potential, adding complementary facilities targeted at attracting families.
A significant financial investment will be made to reposition StarCity as an exciting and innovative entertainment and sporting destination and we will be introducing fun, attractions, and sports-related activities.”
The casino, whish has created over 350 jobs, will open on Saturday 17 November.
