Stargate Dubai project launched
Real estate development group Osus has launched Stargate, a multi-use family entertainment centre which will be located in the centre of Dubai’s Zabeel Park.
Covering a total area of 260,000sq ft (24,155sq m), the multi-million dollar project will be built in the form of a spaceship and operated by the Dubai-based Osus in patnership with Stargate’s owners Dubai Municipality.
The main concept involved two animated characters called Ajeeb and Ghareeb, who captain a spaceship called Stargate.
The centre will primarily be focused at children between four- and 14 years old and the main attractions will be spread across five domes, each offering a unique experience including 3D shows, a rollercoaster and a real-snow, Lunar-themed play area.
Other facilities will include a multi-cuisine food court beneath a glazed pyramid structure and various exhibition and retail sites. Executive director of Osus, Maher Hakim, said: “This project is the future of family entertainment with positive social returns for the whole community.”
The development is due to be completed in December 2006.
