Starwood opens 100th Le Meridien hotel, plans Bali launch
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened Le Méridien Coimbatore, its newest hotel in India and the 100th Le Méridien hotel globally for the brand.
The 254-bedroom hotel will feature a luxury spa, which will open in 2012, as well as a range of restaurants.
The news comes as the Starwood also reached an agreement with PT. Tiara Raya Bali International, a company of Ristia Group, to develop Le Méridien Bali - Jimbaran.
Formerly known as Ristia Resort, the hotel will be rebranded to a Le Méridien resort under the management of Starwood and is slated to open in mid-2012.
The property will feature a full service spa, health club, a lagoon-styled swimming pool and a three-storey restaurant and bar, Bamboo Chic, focused on local cuisine.
Richard Wiriahardja, chair of Ristia Group, said: "We believe that our distinctive design and location is the perfect fit for Le Méridien brand."
