Starwood to expand Westin brand
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced the opening of the Westin Boston Waterfront hotel in Boston, US, as part of its ongoing Westin upper-upscale brand expansion plans.
The 17-storey Westin Boston Waterfront comprises 793 bedrooms, including 30 suites and two presidential suites.
Additional facilities include a 130-seat restaurant called Sauciety, an 80-seat lobby lounge named Birch Bar and a 30-seat Starbucks café. The hotel also features two ballrooms and 100,000sq ft (9,300sq m) of additional retail and restaurant space.
The owner of Westin Boston Waterfront – Boston Convention Center Hotel LLC – has connected the hotel to the new Boston Convention & Exhibition Center via a glass walkway.
The hotel was designed by New York-based Brennan, Beer, Gorman & Monk.
The Westin Boston Waterfront is managed by Starwood’s Westin brand. In the next two years, Westin plans to open more than 40 hotels in locations such as Key West, the Dominican Republic, India and China. Details: www.starwoodhotels.com
