Starwood's double debut in Bursa
Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed with Faik Celik Turizm to develop Sheraton and Aloft hotels in the Turkish city of Bursa.
Scheduled to open in 2013 and marking the debut of both brands in the city, the two properties will be situated in a business and residential area being developed close to the Bursa New Cultural Green Park. The Sheraton Bursa Hotel will offer 171 rooms, including 47 executive rooms and 10 suites; two restaurants; a lobby lounge and bar; a fitness centre; a pool; a spa and more than 1,700sq m (18,300sq ft) of meeting space.
The 133-room Aloft Bursa will feature the brand's signature w xyz bar; a re:charge fitness centre; and a re:fuel 'grab & go' food and drink outlet. Starwood currently operates five hotels in Turkey, including three in Istanbul and one each in Ankara and Izmir.
Two new openings scheduled for Istanbul later this year include Luxury Collection and Le Meridien properties.
