Steelman to design Happyland Hotel for Vietnam
Las Vegas-based Steelman Partners has signed with Vietnam's Khang Thong Group to be the designer and architect for a five-star Happyland Hotel in Vietnam.
The 999-room hotel will feature a casino and VIP, Presidential and Super Suites as well as standard guest rooms. Steelman is also the creator of the master plan for the Happyland Theme Park and Happyland Central retail district, with the former boasting an exhibition centre, a water park, a dance hall, indoor and outdoor theatres, a cultural centre and an art museum.
Further plans for the riverside side in the Ben Luc commune of Long An province, envisage retail, dining and accommodation options, together with a residential area. The US$2bn (£1.3bn) scheme - of which US$600m (£386.2m) is being spent on the theme park - is scheduled to open in 2014 and could potentially receive around 14 million visitors a year.
