Anglia Community Leisure's free Street Sports for young people have proven so popular that they have now launched a new website and three new sessions.

Street Sports is run by Anglia Community Leisure and has been operating for just over a year. In that time the programme has had hundreds of young people at its sessions with the busiest one having 60 people turn up to take part in this successful 'doorstep sport'. The target this year is to run 396 individual sessions totaling 774 hours worth of activity involving 5940 attendances.

Currently there are weekly sessions at Mildenhall, Brandon and Red Lodge, with extra sessions during the holidays at these locations as well as at Lakenheath. Three new sessions have just been launched as follows:

* Brandon - Breckland Middle School - Tuesdays 4pm - 6pm

* Brandon - Brandon Leisure Centre - Saturdays 7pm - 9pm * Red Lodge - Red Lodge Sports Pavilion - Fridays 6.30pm - 8.30pm

All sessions are free, aimed at teenagers, and delivered by experienced sports coaches.

Keiran Williams project organiser, says "Street Sports has been hugely successful, gaining kudos with hundreds of young people and giving them something fun and constructive to do on their doorsteps. Because all the sessions are free, anyone can attend and everyone has the same opportunity. We hope the new website and extra sessions will help spread the word so we can work with hundreds more people this summer."

StreetGames is a groundbreaking national charity which develops sport with disadvantaged communities and makes sport accessible to young people regardless of their social circumstances. Anglia Community Leisure's sessions have gained the StreetMark award which is like a quality kite mark for the sport, designed to make sure all StreetGames activities meet specific quality standards.

The website (www.aclstreetsports.com) gives details of where and when the sessions will be happening as well as more information.
