Digital health giant Lifesum has signed a partnership deal with non-dance HIIT programme Strong by Zumba.

As a result, Strong by Zumba will become a chosen exercise activity within the Lifesum app, giving Lifesum's 35 million users entry to its network of fitness instructors and students.

Additionally, Strong by Zumba instructors will have unlimited access to the Lifesum app, and students will receive premium memberships at a special rate.

According to Henrik Torstensson, CEO of Lifesum, the move is part of a strategy to "bridge the gap between exercise and healthy eating" and to facilitate "balance for millions of global users" seeking to achieve their long-term, holistic lifestyle goals.

"We understand that a balanced lifestyle consists of more than just tracking your food intake," Torstensson said.

"In conjunction with a variety of tailored nutrition plans, an array of healthy recipes, a macro-breakdown, and now our partnership with Strong By Zumba, we aim to help our community take conscious steps towards a healthy lifestyle by changing small, every day habits."

Zumba CEO and co-founder, Alberto Perlman, added: "Our instructors and their students are always our main priority, and any tools we can provide that will enhance their fitness journey is a huge win for us all.

"We are excited to partner with Lifesum and leverage the app's personalised health-conscious capabilities with our high-intensity fitness routines. We're confident this will simplify the path to long-term wellness for our entire community."

Sweden-based Lifesum combines "tech and psychology" to create personalised and tailored plans to help people live healthier lives. In 2018, it was featured on stage during Apple's keynote event and is the first nutrition tracking app to provide voice functionality and hands-free tracking through Google Assistant.
