Successful first season for Bolivian waterpark
Bolivia’s Aqualand at Santa Cruz – said to be the only facility of its kind in the country – has experienced "an extremely successful first season" with approximately 200,000 visitors.
David Orr, president of Amusement Leisure Worldwide (ALW) of Calgary, Canada which designed and built the park, said its opening had been held up due to construction delays, poor weather and the political situation in Bolivia but that it had been very well received.
The 16-hectare site was opened in November 2002 and features an interactive children’s play structure, 35m wave pool, Lazy River, People Eater Family Raft Ride, Bullet Flume speed slide, Jetstream speed slide, Kiddie slide complex and a triple Superflume slide complex.
Aqualand opens for its first full season in August. Details: www.aqualand.com.bo
