Successful year for Flying Scotsman
More than 22,000 people took the opportunity to ride the Flying Scotsman steam engine between York and Scarborough this summer.
Organised by the National Railway Museum (NRM), the Ride the Legend service was the first time people were able to ride the steam engine since it was rescued for the nation last year.
Andrew Scott, head of the NRM, said: “We remain committed to keeping the Flying Scotsman running and aim to have a new programme of operations in place for next year as soon as possible.” Details: www.nrm.org.uk
