Sudbury park in line for major facelift
Babergh District Council (BDC) has announced that work is due to commence on a scheme to overhaul Sudbury's Belle Vue Park.
Last summer, the council carried out a public consultation to gather views on plans to revamp an area of the park currently occupied by an underused putting green. The first phase of the park improvements are now scheduled to start in the week commencing 21 February and will include the removal of hedges to open up the area.
A 280sq m (3,014sq ft) sand pit; the installation of new play equipment in the sand pit; and a series of fitness stations along a new path are also mooted as part of the scheme. BDC horticultural officer Jo Seymour said: "This is only the first phase of many and Babergh is looking forward to continuing to develop further ideas over the coming years."
