Support for Battle of Britain Monument
Lord Shuttleworth, the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, has given his support for the Battle of Britain Historical Society's bid for a new monument at the National Memorial Arboretum.
According to Mark Andrew from the society, the new monument is scheduled to be unveiled on 15 September 2012 and would provide a "fitting memorial to the Few". Lord Shuttleworth said: "This monument will help people to understand the continuing debt we owe to those few who fought in the Battle of Britain and the pivotal role it played in the outcome of the war."
