Surfing event to generate EUR3m for Bundoran
The local economy of Bundoran in County Donegal, Ireland, is expected to receive a boost of EUR3m (£2.6m) from hosting the European Surfing Championship, Eurosurf 2011.
Eurosurf Bundoran 2011 is seen as one of the highlights in the European surfing calendar and involves competitors from countries such as England, Wales, Germany and Portugal.
Dinny McGinley, minister of state with responsibility for the Gaeltacht, said: "Events such as this provide a tremendous boost to the local community and indeed to the wider hinterland of Bundoran."
The event took place between 24 September and 2 October.
