Swiss hotel to reposition as a destination day spa
Dolder Grand hotel in Zürich, Switzerland, will close later this July to undergo a complete transformation into a large destination spa.
The 3,900sq m spa will have 20 treatment rooms and will be designed by UK-based architects, Foster and Partners.
Due to open in late 2006, the spa’s concept statement – designed by Sylvia Sepielli at SPAd – is ‘classical traditions with a techno beat’.
Existing facilities at the 163-room Dolder Grand include a nine-hole golf course, five tennis courts, a fully equipped gym, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and steam room.
Located close to vast forests, guests can take advantage of the scenic jogging routes adjacent to the hotel.
