Premium Swiss wellness destination The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne has launched a comprehensive Covid Bounce Backprogramme at its five-star in-house medical wellness facility, Waldhotel.

The seven-day preventative programme is tailored to enable guests to attain a more balanced and sustained level of personal health through supporting immunity and lowering the risk of viral infections.

The Waldhotel features a team of multidisciplinary physicians specialising in cardiology, internal medicine, dermatology and orthopaedics, as well as psychosomatics, dentistry, nutrition and gastroenterology.

Its location in the Bürgenstock Resort, 500 metres above Lake Lucerne and amidst pristine Alpine nature, allows guests to reconnect and focus on their health and wellbeing.

Guided by medical director professor Dr Verena Briner and her team, the retreat begins with an in-depth consultation and physical examination to assess guests’ current state of health.

This includes ultrasound and blood analysis as well as in-depth lung function tests, biometric scans, an electrocardiogram, two IV infusions and a skin analysis.

Results inform the creation of visitors’ individually tailored diet and nutritional profiles. Guests will also gain further nutritional insight from Waldhotel executive chef and nutritionist Martin Stein who helps guests reactivate and sensitise their sense of taste and smell during a 90-minute private cooking class.

In addition, pulmonary physiotherapy, functional movement screening and personal training sessions are featured to help strengthen guests’ bodies.

During their stay, guests receive unlimited access to the Waldhotel Spa and are treated to four massages – each intended to relax, rejuvenate, purify and nourish respectively.

At the end of the week, Waldhotel's medical team will conduct a final consultation to assess progress and produce a report providing written recommendations to help guests integrate new healthy lifestyle habits into their routine at home.

“Our longstanding expertise in preventative care combined with medical technology, innovative nutrition, the latest trends in aesthetic medicine and cosmetology and bespoke activities in a five-star environment will allow our guests to renew within a week”, says Christian Sack, Bürgenstock Resort GM.

The Covid Bounce Back programme starts at CHF 8,000 (£6,220, US$8,610, €7,250) per person.

The Waldhotel has also recently announced the appointment of Jino Omar as the General Manager from July 2021.
