TDIC to invest in Qasr Al Sarab Arabian retreat
The development arm of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) – the Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) – is to build a luxury Arabian retreat called Qasr Al Sarab in the emirate’s Liwa desert in the Empty Quarter (Rub Al-Khali).
The retreat will be built in the Liwa desert around 7km from the main Hamim Highway, crossing the Rub Al-Khali.
The retreat will have a hotel with 150 rooms as well as 50 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom villas. There will also be a luxury health spa, designed around the concept of hammam healing baths, as a place for cleansing and revitalising rituals for both body and soul.
Construction of Qasr Al Sarab is scheduled to begin in May and will be completed within two years.
