TIDE’s innovative speakers will show how organisations are pushing the limits of technology to deliver extraordinary business results
– Dan Goldstein, senior vice president of marketing and communications, AVIXA

Dutch artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde has been announced as a speaker at next year's TIDE conference at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE).

Roosegaarde is an internationally acclaimed creative thinker and founder of the Studio Roosegaarde, a social design lab that develops smart and sustainable products for “the cities of tomorrow”.

His projects include the Smart Highway, a solar-powered road that glows at night, and the Smog Free Project, the world’s largest outdoor air purifier that creates jewellery from smog and pollution.

TIDE, which stands for Thought, Innovation, Design and Experience, is a conference from the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) that explores the creative influences shaping the audio-visual industry and the ways businesses can benefit. It made its debut in June at AV tradeshow InfoComm in Orlando, Florida.

“TIDE is a great forum for gaining a fresh viewpoint on the possibilities of AV technology and will help contextualise the technology that people see while they walk the ISE trade show floor,” said Dan Goldstein, senior vice president of marketing and communications at AVIXA.

“TIDE’s innovative speakers will show how organisations are pushing the limits of technology to deliver extraordinary business results.”

The conference will take place on 5 February 2018 at the Hotel Okura Amsterdam and will be themed around “design thinking”. Speakers from a range of backgrounds, such as design, marketing, live events and systems integration, will come together to share their experiences and discuss the role design plays for businesses.

It will be presided over by Live magazine editor-in-chief Kevin Jackson and will include keynote speeches, breakout sessions, workshops, panel discussions and networking opportunities.

Other speakers include Jan Erik Baars, head of the Design Management programme at the University of Applied Science in Lucerne, Switzerland; Pedro Gadanho, director of MAAT, the new Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon; and Julien Le Bas, senior VP and executive creative director for Jack Morton Worldwide.
