Tamarind Cove reopens after multi-million dollar makeover
The former Tamarind Cove Hotel in Barbados has reopened as the Tamarind following a multi-million dollar renovation.
The property, owned by Elegant Hotels, features 104 redesigned guestrooms and has seen the addition of a spa and relaxation space offering a range of body treatments inspired by local ingredients, such as Bajan sea salt and Barbadian Moscovado brown sugar. New restaurant options include ocean front dining at 246 Bar & Restaurant, which offers international cuisine, and Rilaks Deck, providing trendy small plates and cocktails in an outdoor living area.
Elsewhere are three freshwater swimming pools and a whirlpool, a fitness centre, beauty salon, shops and a business centre. The hotel is also rolling out a series of new programmes which will become available across Elegant Hotels' entire Barbadian portfolio. These include 'Aqua School', offering complimentary watersports and instruction; 'The Flying Fish Kids Club', a range activities for kids; and the 'Club Tamarind' teen lounge. Also on offer to guests will be 'Discover Barbados' excursions, a 'Surf Barbados' package, and a dining option called 'Taste of Elegance'.
In addition to Tamarind, Elegant Hotels owns The House and the Colony Club, as well as the two all-inclusive Crystal Cove and all-suite Turtle Beach properties. The group also includes Daphne's restaurant on the island's west coast, sister to Daphne's restaurant in London.
