Tennyson museum opens on Isle of Wight
A museum celebrating the life and times of British poet Alfred Tennyson has opened at his former home on the Isle of Wight.
Present owners Martin Beisly, a senior expert on Victorian painting at Christie's auction house, and Rebecca Fitzgerald have reopened Farringford House to the public following a three-year refurbishment.
Guests can now reside in the revamped accommodation wing, while visitors can join weekly guided tours of the house and access an exhibit and a series of lectures celebrating the bicentenary of the poet laureate's birth in the restored library at this month's Tennyson at Farringford event.
