Terminator Salvation coaster unveiled at Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, has opened its new US$10m (£6m, 6.9m euro) rollercoaster, Terminator Salvation: The Ride.
Based on the current entry in the Terminator film series, the coaster - designed by Great Coasters International - is inspired by the movie's post-apocalyptic setting.
It features synchronised onboard audio, a loading station fly-through, two tunnels and fire and fog effects, as well as the 2,850ft track's five hills and six banked turns.
Jay Thomas, park president of Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor, said: "Terminator Salvation: The Ride is the total package, a one-of-a-kind rollercoaster experience merged with the excitement and power of the movie."
The ride is sponsored by Jeep.
