Terms agreed for £600m Canning Town project
Newham Council has announced that it has reached agreement with Bouygues Development over the terms relating to the proposed £600m regeneration of Canning Town, London.
A principal development agreement has now been secured for the scheme, which will cover a 6-hectare (14.8-acre) area and features 30,000sq m (322,917sq ft) of leisure and retail space.
Bouygues Development is working with partner One Housing Group to deliver the scheme - part of the £3.7bn Canning Town and Custom House Regeneration Programme.
Newham mayor Sir Robin Wales said: "This scheme is the real game-changer for Canning Town, and illustrates the scale of our ambition when it comes to delivering regeneration in Newham."
