The Cube opens its doors in Birmingham
A new 52-bedroom Hotel Indigo and a 1,319sq m (14,198sq ft) Marco Pierre White eatery have opened as part of The Cube, a £13m development located in the heart of Birmingham.
Sanguine Hospitality is behind the flagship scheme and will operate the new restaurant and hotel, with the 25-storey building providing a "stunning addition" to the city skyline.
Located on the 25th floor, the 300-seat Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill offers panoramic views of Birmingham and an open-air terrace, as well as a private lounge.
The top floor of The Cube also comprises a Laurent Perrier's first UK champagne bar, with Hotel Indigo occupying the 23rd and 24th floors.
Sanguine Hospitality managing director Nick Taplin said: "I was astounded to discover that Birmingham did not already have a sky bar or rooftop restaurant, given the range of magnificent buildings in the city. We have definitely redressed this now."
An Adee Phelan salon and The Club and Spa health resort and private members club are due to complete the line-up of facilities when they open in early 2012.
The Club and Spa will feature an advanced inhalation room; a Kelo sauna; a rasul mud room; a couples suite with hot tub and relaxation areas; and a dry floatation bed.
A hydrotherapy pool and 10 treatment rooms will also form part of spa, with products to be provided by Pevonia. Three group studios, a Technogym-equipped fitness suite; and a free weights area are also set to be unveiled early next year.
