The HMA Annual Lecture
Brands have never been such a fundamental part of the hospitality industry as they are today.
With this in mind The Hotel Marketing Association (HMA) presents its annual lecture centering on this important topic.
Entitled ‘Brands are the foundation of the hotel industry, not just another cost-centre!’ the lecture will be delivered by Jenifer Zeigler, senior vice president of global brand management, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has placed great emphasis on branding and marketing, right from the creation of the Holiday Inn brand in 1952 and they have recently announced a major global revamp of this brand.
The InterContinental brand name is also known and recognised world-over by its own right. The company devotes major resources to marketing and hires significant expertise from outside of the hospitality industry, a factor that contributes to their on going success.
Ziegler is responsible for development of brand strategy and marketing, including the brand’s worldwide advertising and promotional activities and recently featured in Brandweek Magazine as one of their ‘Top 10 Marketers of the Next Generation’.
This lecture may make you re-think the importance of marketing and the role it plays in your business.
