The Restaurant Show returns for 2009
Celebrating its 21st anniversary, The Restaurant Show returns to Earls Court 2 on 12-14 October 2009.
The respected trade show promises to deliver an event to remember, as 21 years of experience, features and personalities evolve into one unmissable extravaganza for 2009.
Aimed exclusively at the UK's restaurant industry, The Restaurant Show enables suppliers and restaurant buyers from across the sector to meet under one roof. Suppliers to the industry have the unique opportunity to showcase their products and services to the 11,000-strong professional and influential audience, while visitors hungry for ideas and inspiration can explore the offerings from over 350 exhibiting suppliers, and immerse themselves in an action-packed features schedule.

The Centre Stage:
The Centre Stage, supported by Restaurant Magazine and the Academy of Culinary Arts, who will play host to leading chefs sharing their talents and showcasing their skills throughout an intense schedule of workshops and demonstrations that are sure to inspire. Visitors to this year's Restaurant Show will have the rare opportunity to see a live interview with the world's most famous chef, Ferran Adrià.
The chef-patron of Spain's renowned El Bulli - voted the world's best restaurant for the last four years running - will be answering questions posed by Paul Wootton, editor of Restaurant magazine.
The impressive line-up of confirmed chefs includes Ferran Adria, Michael Caines, Philip Howard, Richard Corrigan and Tristan Welch - to name just a few. New for 2009, eight visitors pre-booking online will have the chance to sit on the Chef's Table and enjoy an up-close experience and the opportunity to sample the food.
The Competition Theatre: A Restaurant Show institution, The Competition Theatre will once again be buzzing as it hosts some of the industry's leading competitions, including the Junior and Senior Compass Chef of the Year culinary competition. This year, The Restaurant Show will debut two new cutting-edge competitions, supported by The Craft Guild of Chefs, in recognition of the 'gastro pub' and 'ethnic' sectors of the restaurant industry - The Gastro Pub Challenge and The Indian Restaurant Challenge. This is certainly the place to be to see first hand the industry's top talent, and indeed future talent, in action.
New for 2009 will be the Tandoori Village. Supported by Tandoori Magazine, this area is for companies that supply to the restaurant trade and predominantly the ethnic markets.
Restaurant:
Building on the success of the on 2008 show, The Restaurant Show 'restaurant' will once again be 'open for business'. Visitors will be given the unique opportunity to sample the culinary delights and talents of three iconic chefs who will be working with students from Westminster Kingsway College.
The Harpers Wine Seller: The Harpers Wine Seller will offer visitors the opportunity to experience and enjoy table-top tastings and tutored tastings.
Champagne JACQUART Premier Lounge:
The Champagne JACQUART Premier Lounge returns due to popular demand following its debut at the 2008 show. The VIP lounge will enable industry professionals to take a break from treading the show boards and indulge in a little networking away from the crowds, whilst sampling the Champagne JACQUART range of Cuvées and an array of fine wines. The Premier Lounge is also in association with Villeroy & Boch.
Business Briefing Theatre: A highly thought-provoking feature that is new for 2009, The Business Briefing Theatre will provide a provocative experience for visitors as leading industry experts discuss the latest news and trends from around the industry and address the most topical and controversial issues throughout this high-quality seminar programme.
