Third Palm island for Dubai
Dubai developers Nakheel have announced the construction of a third and final man-made palm tree-shaped island which will stretch from the Deira coastline to the Arabian Gulf.
Called The Palm, Deira, it will join The Palm, Jumeirah and The Palm, Jebel Ali and will be the largest of the three islands, at 860 million sq ft (80,000,000sq m) and 45,000ft (14,000m) in length.
The Palm, Deira will house 8,000 villas across 41 ‘frond’ sections while facilities will include shopping malls, sports complexes, clubs public services and a selection of luxury amenities.
